HOW TO TAKE CARE OF SHIRT?

If you are browsing through this website then you are definitely interested into great looking and high-quality shirts. And really, it’s a shame when a great shirt loses its sparkle due to bad maintenance. That’s why we offer a few tips and tricks that will prolong the life of your shirt and let it shine in its best potential.

TIP 1: WASH IT YOURSELF

When it comes to cleaning your shirts dry cleaners might look like the easiest option, but it is not the one we recommend. The best treatment you could provide for your shirt involves washing at home using the Delicate program and letting it air dry. Delicate means that water will not be too hot (we recommend 30 degrees wash) and spins will not be too destructive. Of course you could wash it by hand if you have the time and energy and that would actually be the best option. But then again, who has the time to wash by hand these days, right?

TIP 2: PRE-TREAT STAINS ON COLLAR AND CUFFS

Collar and cuff areas see the most skin-to-shirt contact, which causes oil-based stains, so we recommend pre-treating them with a heavy-duty stain removing detergent before washing. We advise doing this before every wash, even if you can’t see the stains yet, because we assure you, those nasty things can really get stronger with time.

TIP 3: WET WIPES ARE YOUR FRIENDS

We’ve seen what a simple wet wipe can do against a scary fresh stain, so we really, really recommend that you carry a small pack of them when you take your shirt to dinner… or anywhere else in that matter. Just treat the stain right where and when it happens and you’ll be amazed by the results.

TIP 4: LET IT AIR DRY

We’ve said that before but we want to repeat it as a separate tip. Air drying will help avoid shrinkage and is far less invasive to the cloth. And you wouldn’t want to cause suffering to that fine, high-quality Italian fabric now, would you?

TIP 5: USE WOODEN HANGER

How you store your shirts is also important in the long term. If you use wire hangers, they might cause the cloth to deform and the shirts to stretch. That’s why we recommend thicker wooden hangers that will not affect those beautiful shapes. Oh, and cedar hangers will keep moths out of the closet.

TIP 6: WEAR IT PROUDLY

No matter how long you wear your Tailor Lamb shirt, wear it with pride, knowing that it’s worth a week of quality education for an underprivileged kid. That means you care. And not just for the shirt.
